Rules and session format
Goal
Bid a contract, call a card to choose your partner, and take at least six plus the bid level in combined tricks.
Auction and washes
The player left of dealer calls first. Three passes after a bid end the auction; four opening passes redeal. Double and redouble are not used.
Called partner
Declarer calls a card not held in their own hand. Its holder is the hidden partner until that exact card is played.
Opening lead and trump
In a suit contract, the player to declarer's left leads first; declarer leads in no trump. Trump cannot be led until broken unless a hand contains only trump.
Card play
Every player controls only their own private hand and must follow suit. Trump cannot be led before it is broken unless the hand contains only trump.
Individual scoring
A made contract awards both partners points by bid level. A defeated contract awards both defenders points by undertricks. Four scored deals make one session.
Four-deal session
The dealer rotates through all four players. Washed deals do not count, and the final result ranks each player's accumulated points across four scored deals.

Singapore Bridge, also called Floating Bridge, changes partnerships every deal. The winning bidder calls one exact card, its holder becomes the hidden partner, and the partnership is revealed only when that card is played.
